Default What Model Is This?

This came up on a nearby CL and it has the Singer badge on it. I didn't know Singer made any fiddle based machines. What model is it? TIA

You'll note it is a transvers shuttle, too. I believe it is a 12.

I think you are right, Leonf, it does look like a Singer 12 now that you mention it. I did some research last night on the model and now I so wish I had an extra $150 floating around! (No spare money around Christmas time.) It must be quite a collection piece and I'm wondering if those gold looking spots on the bed aren't possibly mother-of-pearl. (?) It looks like it needs a clean up, but it is possible.

Any collectors in the KC area interested? If I can't have it, I want someone who will appreciate it to buy it!

Singer made a lot of fiddle base machines. It's more of an age thing than anything else. So most of the earlier machines are fiddle base, and the later ones are rectangular.

I'd guess those "gold" spots are MOP.

1891 Singer vs 2. Much larger and faster machine than the 12.

The fiddle base models sometimes come with very nice decals; flowers, roses, leaves, and a bit different than the all metallic gold decals. I so hope to find a New Family or VS2 with roses, but I think there are some very early square base models with these dacals too. I have never come across the decal set on your VS2 leonf, I like it a lot.
