Default Scrappy Blue Hexies

In 1994 when I first started quilting I purchased Shar Jorgenson’s Pandora’s Box plastic template set. The only one I have ever used is the 3” hexagon for this quilt. I chose any fabric I had that had any blue in it, and traced templates on the cardboard ad inserts from magazines. Every road trip or guild meeting I would stitch away at these, and finally got them joined into a decent size. (64” x 70”) Chose to appliqué them onto a yellow gold border and then used Perle cotton to do a big stitch. I feel kind of giddy to finally have this completed, washed and semi dried and laying out on the carpet to finish drying. Of course it has sat as a UFO many different times.. but yeah! It is done 24 years in the making!

Oh how pretty!!!!!!!!! Love love love your quilting.
I'm currently working on a hexi project. It's a lot of fun! I'm using papers and work on it at night.
