Default Which one?

I am planning to do a quilt with one of these blocks.

Which one do you prefer, the 1st or the second?

Watson

I like the second one. The black stands out beautifully!

The right side block. It has more contrast. Can you do a dark outer circle too on that pattern?

The second one because it has more contrast.

Edit: The contrast is both in terms of color and design. The fabric in the second one complement each other; in the first one, they are very similar in pattern.

I agree with above - the 2nd has more contrast with the darker black which adds to the movement of the block - pretty block!

the one with the solid black

you might consider fussy cutting the print to get even more movement in the blocks - sort of like the kaleidoscope or one block wonder blocks.

or it may not matter to you - just mentioning it so you are aware - -
