Default Sliding plate/bobbin cover for a Singer 66 Treadle

Looking for an authentic vintage sliding plate/ bobbin cover. Are these hard to find? Over the top expensive?

No, not too expensive, usually there's some available on ebay, and I always contact Helen Howes for parts like these. There was or is a recent thread on a parted up 66 that was donated to a member, the bobbin cover might be available. I don't know of you quilt much, I mostly sew clothes and the odd projects like leather bike seats, faux lather, etc, uphostery and a 66 is very nice to work on. My machines have electrical motors, but I guess it's all about technique. With a treadle you have both hands free to guide the material.

Mickey2, it's for my DN , the replacement she did purchase rocks/wiggles. She is new to machine sewing, she has been a hand quilter for 8-9 years. Thought I would surprise her with a authentic, vintage plate for her June birthday. I did look on Ebay, for now no authentic, vintage plates. DN has a love for history and values antique items.

Mickey2, sent a message to Helen Hope she has an extra, what fun to surprise the DN!! Thinking she is wanting to expand her quilting skills.

I found one. It's off an older 66 Red Eye. Have no idea if it can be successfully polished enough to look good. But it would fit. If you want it, PM you address and I'll get it in the mail.
