Your two "practice" quilts are wonderful. I've heard of making a sample block before cutting into the quilt fabric and usually do it myself, but have never heard of making a while practice quilt (or two!).

Very cute and how smart of you to practice with different fabrics. I went back and looked at your first one and I think "pooh" wins. The first one is nice but sure is bright.

Thanks everyone! We have a quilts for kids sewing day tomorrow at our local quilt shop so now I have these 2 ready to quilt

I agree I like your second quilt much better, but then I think Winnie the Pooh always wins out for a children's quilt. I still love Winnie even at my age (73) and remember reading all of the Pooh books we had for my children. I kept all of those and all of the Dr. Seuss books and used them in my 1st grade class when I was teaching 1st grade for 20 years.

They are both lovely. The purple/yellow has more contrast which I prefer. I like Winnie but I think it's bland. As you say it looks better in person than in the photo. And if you like it it's perfect! Nothing worse than making a project that isn't pleasing to you.
