Default Birthday quilt and matching pillowcases

Our daughter wanted a quilt made with these fabrics and also chose a simple design. I found a quilt online that she liked and it didn't require a pattern - just some simple math. The quilt is not on her bed as her birthday isn't until August. As well, she wanted a set of queen and a set of king pillowcases to match. That was a good idea as I used Kona Snow fabric for the background and it's not as white as purchased pillowcases. The pillow cases look larger in the photo because I just have regular sized pillows and put queen sized pillowcases on them. Because the quilt is king sized, I decided to have it long arm quilted at Maple Leaf Quilting in Cochrane, Alberta. Rather than making pillow shams in the future, I've decided now to simply make pillowcases to match. I don't like putting shams on pillows so this would work better for me. It feels great to have this finished a bit early!

Beautiful quilt. I just make pillow covers like the quilt to cover my pillows with. Making the bed is faster.

Love your fabric choices and the quilting looks great. King-sized - I'd have sent that someplace too!

I like the idea of pillowcases to match the quilt.

If enough fabric is available, make two sets of pillowcases for the quilt - the pillowcases are apt to get worn out before the quilt.
