Default Ellegante 2 Upgrades

I have an Babylock Ellegante 2 Embroidery/Sewing machine. I have recently taken a long break from sewing in general and now that I am getting ready to get back with it I decided to check on the latest news on my machine. There looks like there have been two upgrades to the Ellegante 2 machine, one of which is a quilting upgrade. I was not able to find out much info on the Babylock website and just wanted to ask the board if anyone knows much about the upgrades from actually using them.

I don't know about your machine upgrades. Does it use the USB or card reader for EMB?

Info here on the site that might help.

It seems there are some new machines due in August. You might check those first and then decide if the upgrade fits your needs. They are putting more features into the machine software to enhance the capabilities right at the machine vs a stand alone software. Some of the new machine have wireless transfer of designs also.

I did the upgrade to the Spirit and quite happy with it. It was an easy process to load and added the 8x8 hoop size. I also did the upgrade for the dream and the software. Again easy processes.

Good luck!

The machine I have uses the USB for EMB, but there is also a slot for a card reader which I have never had to use. Do you know if some upgrades are free and some have to be purchased. The fact that these sewing machine companies are so private about the pricing of things is unnerving. Thanks for your response and the link above.

If it says "update" it is usually a free download. They are right on the web-site. Don't forget they have to be done in order (I think). You shouldn't do update #3 if you haven't already performed update #2.

If it says "upgrade" there is a cost for it.

ETA: Don't forget to negotiate the prices for Upgrades too. There is wiggle room.

Why not ask your local dealer. They should know if they are free or to be purchased. And what is current.
