Default Machine for Blanket Stitch

I would like a machine that I could use for blanket stitch around applique. I have a Janome (love it!) Nut the small blanket stitch goes backwards, forward, up then down-like the stitches are double. The larger pattern doesn't go small enough for some things. Any suggestions?

I know it looks like a blanket stitch, but that is not a blanket stitch, it is an heirloom stitch to use with a wing needle. Look for another stitch on your machine to be a blanket stitch.

I have a Janome 6600 MC and love it. I applique with a blanket stitch with this machine and love how it works. I would be no help on recommending any machine to do the blanket stitch other than what I have. Good luck on your search.

A Bernina 330 has the blanket stitch. It runs about $700 to $800.

I wonder if you aren't overlooking the one on your machine. Sometimes it is there and needs to me mirror imaged to work on applique.

I have a Viking Topaz and it took me a long time to find the blanket stitch under quilting stitches. I felt like a dummy.

I do a blanket stitch on my Janome MC4800 but can never remember how to make it work from the opposite side. i thought of using it on a binding but couldn't remember. I know it does it.

can you find the manual or put in your model info and google should point one out. Usually they will show the different stiches. Good luck

My Brother SQ9000 has the Blanket Stitch. Go to Brother.com and see what the newer version is, since this model has been discontinued.

Brother has a few entry level machine with lots of decorative stitches. The price tag is usually less than $300.00
