Default Flag

No - it's not a quilt, but I sure used a lot of quilting/applique techniques to make it.
This is a flag for my son's section in the Jacksonville State Univ. Marching Southerners.
It's 2 sided - 2 identical flags sewn together.
And boy was this thing tedious to make! Everything had to be hand glue-basted down because I couldn't use a fusible on the silky flag fabric for fear it would melt. Then LOTS of satin stitchinig to get all those letters down, and While I was delighted to make it, I definitely won't be going into the flag business any time soon. I'll be quite happy to get back into my quilting cottons!
Can't wait to see them waving in the stand at Saturday's game! Wahoo!!
Enjoy!

You did a fabulous job with that. Those fabrics are a total pain to work with.

Good job! I can't imagine doing that on silky fabric. I'm sure they will wave it with pride!
