Default That Big Old Chunk of Fabric Finally Used!

This lap blanket backed with Minky I made using a lot of scraps and a large light fabric that I have had folded up for several years. I have no idea why I bought 4yards of this and have tried to come up with a use many times. Not long ago I saw a pattern on Pinterest called Eidos which was rather modern and very different from anything I have ever done. But I could see a way to use up that big old chunk of fabric. So, I cut it all up, paper pieced some of the diamonds and completed this warm and somewhat modern blanket which will keep a friend warm who is on dialysis three times a week. He has dreaded the coming winter, but his face just lit up when he got this.

Great quilt and fabric! I can see why you bought that neutral batik because it is super!

I absolutely love this quilt! I designed one similar. Did you have to paperpiece the blocks? Or just piece them?

I can see why your friend's face lit up when he saw the quilt. It's beautiful & I'm sure it will keep him warm this winter.

I love your quilt. I think I am becoming more modern with my quilting. That's what appeals to me these days.

That's lovely. And no one would ever guess it wasn't planned.

What a good friend you are! This one is not only going to be warm, but there's so much to look at. Kudoes to you for your kindness and good use of that big ole chunk of fabric
