I think it is awesome and they say now to give black and white quilts to newborns for development purposes...

What a fun and innovative design. You really rocked it using only a few colors and lots of shades of gray. And the background fabric with the birds is a great choice too.

Looks like you found a great way to meet the mom's aesthetic sense. I'd say the birds in the black print are Canada geese migrating above your forest.
