Give credit on the signage and your quilt label. I see no reason to have “permisioon” as long as you are upfront giving complete credit to the Designer and the pattern that influenced you. That is what will be required.

I once contacted the late Pam Bono asking for her permission for me to make and RAFFLE her Breezing By hot air balloon quilt. She was very gracious and asked that she is given full credit for her design..pattern. I still have her email. I have posted two of those quilts!
