    Default border dilemma

My plan was to use the two-color spacer border with the diamond rectangle inner border. But now that I've sewn it on I'm having second thoughts. I'm seriously considering replacing it with either the hearts or the purple. Or I could use the large paisley that will be the outer border. The inner spacer border is 1.5 inches wide. I liked it when I "dry fit" it, but now, not so much. Opinions please and thank you.

I prefer the bottom one with the thin paisley and diamonds for the outer border. Either way you are going to lose a bit of the diamonds. Hope to see the finished quilt. I really like what I can see so far.

I also like the last photo. the paisley is too busy, IMHO, and detracts from the wonderful work you have done.
    love those cats.

    I like the cats.

    I like the diamond borders.

In my opinion, the border seems overwhelming for the size of the cats. Maybe a scaled down version of the diamonds?

I love the larger paisley fabric but agree it detracts a tiny bit from your main quilt. the diamonds as border will work much better. lovely quilt!!

the diamonds are already made so can't scale them down. the comments about the large paisley are interesting because that is the fabric the quilt designer used as the border. The quilt, as designed, is too small for my bed. I added the diamond border to make it bigger.

I like picture #2 best, however, they are all very pretty.

Well good luck on this decision! This is why I don't make many quilts: I am too indecisive when there are Many great options.
Sometimes I just say "to heck with it" and do whatever.
Please do share when you've finished - I'm sure it will be wonderful - the center of it is already that...

    Love the quilt!

Another suggestion for you. Add an outside thin strip matching the first thin strip. The two strips create a frame for the diamond border.
