You can also look at patternreview.com. They have reviews on sewing machines there by seamstresses. A free site and fun. Scroll down to the brown bottom of the link I gave you and you will see a link to the sewing machine reviews.

I recently bought the 550 QE and love it. Bernina has sales on specific machines from time to time; I bought mine on sale. Plus, some dealers offer lower prices than the msrp, while others don't, so be aware of that.

I just purchased the Bernina 740 a few weeks ago. I believe that it is the same model, but without the embroidery (I have no interest in doing machine embroidery). I love this machine!

c- mine is also the QE. I opted not to get the embroidery module as I don't do that kind of work but if I ever change my mind I can add it.

My sister has the 770 and loves hers also.
Mine was a model used during classes at the AQS quilt show...only about 20 hours on it.
