3rd Finish - Quilt for a little guy
Sadly, I only seem to be able to finish quilts in the winter (avid gardener here)! This is my third baby quilt. The first two were for my nieces and were composed entirely of HSTs, so it was fun to make a quilt for my friend's new baby boy in a different pattern - stacked coins. This was also my first stab at straight-line quilting. I used the painters tape method and my walking foot. I did only one direction of diagonal quilting rather than the criss-cross I had originally planned. I liked how simple and modern it looked. Hopefully it holds up to lots of washing.
The fabric is from Dear Stella's 'May the Forest Be With You' line. It felt a little like cheating to use just pre-coordinated fabrics, so I mixed in 4 others I liked. Mom loved it and hopefully the little guy enjoys all the squirrels, deer, foxes, snails, mushrooms, etc. in the prints!

That quilt looks great made out of coordinating fabric! Better than scrappy, I'd say, and I'm a big 'scrappy' girl. That backing fabric is to *die* for! I love Dear Stella fabrics.
Quilting looks great!
