They were fussy cut from the cream prints of the collection. Not sure why the name crumb quilt but idea is that you same number of complimentary fabric as blocks,i.e. 9 blocks would have 9 complimentary fat quarters. It is random in how you sew strips together and then sew to block so it gives you a themed quilt with a crumb look. It is just a different way to cut and sew a quilt block and using fat quarters keeps you from having crumbs leftover.
