Default Quilters Christmas poem

As my Christmas gift to all of you that have been so much help to me this year, I would like to share a poem that I wrote. I hope you will get a smile from it.

My Christmas gifts are still unwrapped.
I've cookies left to bake.
Starting a runner for Karol yesterday
seems like a big mistake.
My house needs cleaning, my tree is untrimmed.
Overnight guests will appear tonight.
My head is spinning, I must sit down.
Oh, my sewing room is a welcome sight!
I'll sit for a while and clear my head,
and plan the next project or two.
I need to sandwich and quilt my gift
when no store-bought runner will do.
I'm not going to worry or panic right now.
I won't throw my hands in the air.
If I don't finish all of my non-quilting tasks,
to be honest, I really don't care.
My visitors can clean if they don't like the dust,
and everyone's on a diet these days.
I'll just welcome my guests with handmade gifts,
and accept either their criticism or praise.

Nice poem. Our oldest Granddaughter has taken over having Christmas Eve at their house. So I will spend my day sewing until it is time to go.

Love your poem SueZQ. My house is clean and ready for my Christmas Eve dinner party. Christmas Day is at my sons and daughter-in-laws. Having a clean house is boring. I can’t even sew because I don’t want my guests wearing thread but I have loved hearing Christmas music and reading. All will be back to normal on the 26th!

Loved you poem SueZQ. I sent a copy to my son, Bruce. He will enjoy it, too.

Thank you.. Your poem is perfect... for all of us. I copied and pasted it to a doc so I can enjoy it every year.
I only made a few Microwave bowl cozies for neighbors, all non-sewing types. They absolutely loved them.
