I sprayed my recliner with Scotch guard. then wiped it off. think it was scotch guard or maybe upholstery shampoo. perhaps the latter. anyway, the arm rests now have areas that feel stiff. I don't like that. any ideas on how to make the fabric soft again?

I tried rubbing a fabric sheet softener on it, did not work well. yuck.
