Ombré Fabric

Ombré Fabric
I have come across a fair amount of ombré fabrics in my stash some are the gradients of the same color others go from one color to another. Like all the fabric, I bought it because it was pretty💕, not because I knew what I was gonna make with it! Thus I’m here seeking suggestions and or patterns that would work well with these pretty fabrics.

I'm in the same boat. My LQS went out of business a couple of years ago and had wonderful sales, and I bought fabrics because I loved them. Some of them had been on the shelves a long time. I haven't a clue what to do with them. I think I'll take a look and see if there any pattern books for ombre fabrics......

I absolutely love ombre fabrics! I made a two (actually three) fabric bargello for Quilts of Valor with some. Susie Weaver has a pattern for this. It is not difficult once you get going. You just need to label every strip and keep them in order. She is very nice and willing to talk to anyone who needs help. I think they are amazing.

Jordan Fabrics has a free bargello runner pattern that uses ombres.

I've been collecting ombres and gradations too. I've even learned how to dye my own. Love them!
Here are a few ideas / fun pics:

Here's an easy pattern/tutorial that is all HSTs. You could substitute your colors:

I think it might be fun to attempt a labyrinth quilt quilt with these.
Irish Rose, your quilt is so pretty!

Here's another free pattern. This one is from Marcus Fabrics:

if the link doesn't go to the correct pattern, just type "prism" into the search bar.
or use this link and scroll down to Free Project Ombre Hand Dyes-Marcus Fabrics. This will download a pdf file directly to your computer

Using a twister ruler with ombre or gradient fabric to create blocks looks really neat. I took a class this summer using a twister ruler and then we created the blocks. A lady in our class was using an ombre fabric as her center, and it created a beautiful block once we had it all sewn together, IMHO, hers were the best because of her ombre fabric. The class was on a table runner. Lots of great tutorials on Youtube on the ruler and how to use it.

I always thought Gentleman's Agreement was a great pattern for ombres http://www.newleafstitches.com/shop/...t-x7735686.htm
