Default A gundam quilt... a first for me

First, gundam is a model that once built, can turn into other things with it's moving parts. Think highly advanced Transformers. I am making this quilt for a friend of my son who is going thru chemo treatments. Yes, it's a comfort quilt, and ordinarily I would not use a lot of black, but the colors were necessary for this one. My son made the logo banner in the center top of this quilt and sent it to me. It's a gundam thing. lol
He asked for the quilt to look like a banner. I drew up a pattern and he approved. So then I made up the quilt. It was quite a challenge with all the angles, etc. The top is finished and I am off to Joanne's today for backing. None of my stash will do for this!
Here is a photo of the finished top, and of the pattern I designed for it. I'm very pleased with myself that it came out so well.

This will be just the comfort this young cancer victim is going to cling to as he goes through his treatments. This is a song of love! You will also bring hope to his parents. This quilt is a labor of love. Designed and made into this quilt it is so well done. Beautiful in workmanship and love.

You and your son make a good design team, and your quilt is going to mean so much to the young man. Truly unique and special gift to comfort and encourage him ..
