Default Cardinal

I recently learned how to enlarge in poster mode and wanted to try it out. I found a picture of a stained-glass panel made by Joanne Paone Gill on the internet. I copied the picture in poster mode on my printer and taped them together to enlarge the pattern. Raw-edge applique pieces were placed on a black background. The cardinal is the state bird of Virginia and the dogwood is the state tree and flower so I quilted dogwood blossoms and leaves on the first border. It finished at 30" x 38."

This is so beautiful. I love cardinals. There are many of them that share my front yard all year round. In this cold and white winter they stand out in all their glory. You captured one with such detail! I love your wall hanging. Beautiful quilting.

Beautiful piece. Very well done! The enlargement feature we have on printers and at Office Depot or Staples is one of the tools in our Quilting and Piecing arsenal.
