Default Battine for table runner

Hi everyone-
I am sure this subject has been discussed before but I must have missed it. I am making a table runner and wanted to know what is the best batting to use.
Any advice or information will be greatly appreciated.

I've used Pellon product PEL988 many, many times. It's extremely low loft. Lovely to work with and your wine glass is very safe on it!

I use either Hobbs 80/20 or Thermolan.

I actually used a nice piece of preshrunk flannel in the last one I made. It lays very flat.

Thank all of you for your input. I have both Hobbs 80/20 and the pellon 988 so I guess it will be whatever I feel will work the best. This is great to know as I am staying in the house and have plenty of supplies to get thru. It is even snowing like crazy here in Northern Arizona so that makes it super hard to get out. I will get a lot of sewing done though.

I love to use scraps of W&N that I have set aside here. A great way to use up pieces. I also will use a low pile poly bat if I have no other choice. I seem to always have scraps around here of batting for table runners, placemats and other small quilting projects. W&N is my favorite for most quilting projects.

I have even put the batting I use in pot holders to make the table runner safe to put hot dishes on. But for usual decorative runners, I just us whatever scrap batting that fits.
