Smile I might become an addict, to quilting!

Hi, my name is Michelle and I’m new to quilting. I’ve knit since I was 7 and crocheted since 8, but I’ve always wanted to learn to quilt. I suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm a few years ago so now I don’t work and have time to learn. With FMQ and machines that have such large throats it makes it possible to be a home quilter and I love it! I’m awaiting the delivery of my Janome Horizon MC8900QCP today! I’m so excited. I love everything about quilting so far and I think I may have become addicted to it!

Hi Michelle, congratulations on becoming a quilter....we have some of the best people right here on the quilting board who are willing to help with any questions that you have. I don't post a lot, but I'm always reading and learning from the very generous quilters here. When you said you had suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm a few years ago, it reminded me of my precious step-father who lived thru one also. You are two very blessed people.

Hi & welcome!

Enjoy your new machine. It's like Christmas bringing home a new machine.

Mamadukes and welcome to your new passion. You will find a never ending supply of quilty ideas from this board and tons of help if you get stuck on something. I've been quilting for many years and still find new things to learn.

Please don't take this as being critical. That is not my intention.
I don't use the word addiction as my youngest son has been clean for 5 years after being addicted to drugs for many years. He was one of the lucky ones who have been able to break the cycle. NOT an easy task. He calls me Mamadukes too.
