Default Has anyone evre done Cleopatra's Fan?

This quilt is on my Bucket List and I would really like to do it but I'm not sure about all the template cutting.

    Anyone ever done this one?

Here is a link to a bunch of images..... Cleopatra's Fan images

    Thanks, Watson

It is a lovely pattern. I think Inklingo had a print out for that pattern?

Robert Kaufman has a free pattern. It is beautiful but I think I will live vicariously through your journey on this one.

First, I have to say that I am not a fan of templates at all. I can't cut the same thing twice and I would need about 20 copies because I will cut them up one at a time for sure. Instead of making templates, I would make several copies of the pattern template page and then cut multiple sets of fabric at one time. Then just piece normally per the Kaufman pattern directions.

I just printed this from the Kaufman website last week. They call it Beau Monde. One thing I liked looking thru the directions was to cut both sides at the same time. Haven't tried it yet. But one day.

One of the ladies in our Boom swap group does Cleopatra's fan blocks as a treat for us. She uses Inklingo and sews by hand!

It's got to be the hardest block to make that I have ever seen. I love the way they look, but won't be making any.

Beautiful quilt but I don't think it would be anything I would want to attempt. Good luck to you and please share a picture of your progress or finished top.

I haven't made it yet but it is in the near future. This is the planned next die for me to get. Having the accurate cuts should make the difference on how it comes together. I am enjoying the die cutting system I have. I want to do this block, Cleopatra's Fan really bad. It has always been on my to do list.

Actually, they call it Cleopatra's Fan. It's the line of fabric they used that's called Beau Monde. Here's a link to the pattern if anyone else is interested:

I love it! Looks very art deco.

juliasb...Do you have the Studio cutter? Or did they make one for the GO! cutter? When I had the regular GO! cutter, they only offered it for the Studio model.
