Default Laundry Basket Quilts Mystery 2020

I made this during the quilt along Ediyta Sitar hosted during the spring during the beginning of the COVID pandemic. Her quilt featured her beautiful fabric line called Super Bloom, but my goal has to been to use stash. Not buy fabric. I had a fat quarter bundle called "Folk Art Christmas III" by Robyn Pandolph for Moda. It is an older line. I had been gifted it from a fellow quilter and have not found a pattern that I thought was worthy. Until now. I really like the pattern even though it was 100 blocks, you only had to make 4 or 8 of each one so it kept the process exciting. The colors don't make you think of Christmas, but that's what the fabric line was called. Actually, there were off white fat quarters in the bundle, but I did not use them. I used the pink instead as I also had enough yardage of the pink to use for a consistent background. I am still on the fence with the pink. My hubby & son don't really care for the pink, but it is the choice I made Haha! Edyta ended up calling the pattern "California", so I am calling mine "California Christmas" in a nod to the fabric line. I finished the top in April and just finished quilting it last weekend, so I am happy to move on from this one. It finished at 73 x 73".

Oh so Pretty! The fabrics go well together and you were right to over ride the boys in your house (younger and older). I am glad you can add this to the finished pile. Thanks for sharing.
