Default Another Donation Top

In 2019 I became part of our guild's BOM planning group. I was also given a large shoe box of 2 1/2 inch squares, to hand out to members who wanted to contribute but did not want to make the BOM. They could make 9 patches and hand them back to be made into donation quilts. Well...with Covid, that box kept staring at me. I made 2 donation tops, at least 4 throw sized tops, and finally, in a desperate effort to finish off those blankety blank squares, this top. I told the provider (our community quilts coordinator) that I was going to put that box on her doorstep and run like heck so that she couldn't 'gift' me with another lot!!

This one will probably go to the youth shelter or the hospice after it is quilted. Thanks for looking.

Oh and that is Hamish. The boys are usually not allowed in my sewing room but 'someone' forgot to close the door. He was quite content to hold down the fabric, while I sewed the last seam.

I love how you used the solid rows to offset all the scrappiness! It's a beautiful quilt.
Hamish is quite the handsome one also!

Love the quilt!
Mookie drives me crazy in the sewing room. The minute I get up to press he jumps into my chair and we have a fight to see who's going to win haha
Or he wants to touch the needle. Grrrr
Baby is so good. She just comes in and finds a place to sleep.

I love what you did with your gifted squares but totally understand your frustration. During Covid I have been trying to tick off quilts on my UFO or to-do list and twice have been gifted with more fabric. It is a lovely gesture but it seems I can never get ahead. I selectively took what I wanted and put the others aside to donate to the local shop for crafters and art teachers.
