No more trouble w/sashing TU MSQC
No matter how I measure, cut, press, I have problems with my sashing. Recently Jenny showed a different way. I was watching her sewing a block. Block was done and pressed. She took first sashing strip and sewed it on the right side. Pressed. Sewed second strip to the bottom. Pressed. SASHING IS DONE!!! If you want the cornerstone, sew it to the bottom strip. Sorry don't know which tute it was on.
Using this method with my scrappy house blocks and just love it. I add strip to left side of first block on each row and last block in the row too. When the block/row is done, so is the sashing and no "waves." Done Done Done

Glad you found a method that works for you! Be sure to post a picture when you've finished. We'd all love to see your scrappy house quilt. When things work, sewing is always a pleasure. I've used both methods - sewing the sashing as I go and sewing the sashing when the blocks are complete and really don't have a preference.

That is the way that I use as it's easier than using long strips across the row. Here is my favorite how-to instructions. I over-size the sashing strips/stones sometimes and then square up the blocks to the size needed.
