Default Honeycomb

Hi, I had bought a Layer Cake of this bee fabric which I loved. I bought a hex and more ruler. Cut out hexies from each 10 inch square with little waste. Sewed together with Y seams. Quilted with a stitch on my Janome Horizon that looks like a Blanket Stitch. Then came the binding , used a 2 inch bias binding. There were 25 mitred corners!

25 mitred corners! I think I feel my brain exploding. Beautiful quilt though, the blanket stitching looks fantastic.

What a fun, unique quilt! You did a lovely job. I would never have thought to use a blanket stitch. How clever.

Love it! I remember that fabric line, it's one of those things, I wish I had picked up. My rule of thumb while shopping is if I pick it up 3 times, I purchase it. Even if I can't think of a thing to make with it. Hexies are perfect for the bees.
