Default FMQ is making me crazy!!!!

Just needing to let off some steam..... I am attempting to free motion quilt my first real quilt end it is driving me crazy. I either forget to put the pressure foot down, failed to notice that my machine has come unthreaded or some other annoying problem......I’ve been ripping stitches and rethreading all day and I am just frustrated.....if anyone else needs to vent I will be glad to listen 🤣🤣🤣

Been there done that! There’s a jillion things that sabotage fmq. I am slowly learning how to adjust for some of them.

Well, if it would help and I lived closer, I'd bring some chocolate and/or red wine over

Unfortunately, for some things there are just no substitute for experience.

All I can say -- is been there/done that and it eventually gets better. But there are reasons why planning and piecing are my happy place over quilting!

But we hear you and we understand

have you thought of making a pre-flight checklist????? something like:
Thread threaded properly? Check!
Foot down? Check!
Music on? Check!
Quilting gloves on? Check!

OK, ready for take off. Enjoy the journey Tee Hee!

It is rough in the beginning. Hang in there, it will click at some point. You're good to rip out stitches, I just carried on. Que sera sera.
