    Default Papa’s Delight top

Hello Quilters! I just got my top pieced. It’s 88 x 100. I want to add borders, but need more fabrics. This is an old, old block. I had originally showed a quilt a friend had and wanted to know the name of the block. Her mother in law made the quilt when my friend married over 60 years ago. Someone here on quilting board found it. Yea!!! Three cheers to QB and the quilter here!!! The last 3 pics are examples with just binding or borders. What do you think? Have a nice day and thanks in advance for looking or commenting- Toogie

Wow, another beautiful creation, you always do such wonderful work, I cant wait to see it all finished. Is the name of the pattern Papa’s Delight? I have been collecting black and white fabrics for years, I love yours, stunning!

The block is called Papa’s Delight from antique quilting library. A lady I traveled with sent me a photo of her old quilt. Here is original over 60 years old.

So bright and pretty! I kind of like it with just binding. But I'm kinda plain that way.

    That's absolutely gorgeous 💛 🖤 🤍 and I can't believe how fast you are!!! 😲

It looks just beautifully made - but your quilts always do. 😊

I like all of your variations, but my favorite is the black/yellow/black border. I would make the inner black half the width of the yellow squares, the yellow border the same width as the squares and the outer black border two or three times the width of the yellow. Depending upon the size bed you want to cover, you could leave the borders off of the head of the bed and only have the black binding - I've had to do this on the last two quilts I made because I made the center huge like this. 😄

Any of your ideas will be beautiful, though. Congratulations on a great top!

I love that quilt. black or yellow binding would be enough for me. It is lovely.
reminded me to look, I thought it was the same as my Nine Patch with Attitude but it isn't. one good reason to get rid of this book since i don't want to make any of the patterns in it. not bad enough anyway.
anyone want a free book, Geometric Gems by Cathy Wierzbicki from 2010??. quilts from diamonds, circles and squares.I will mail it off to anyone who Pm's me. Even you toogie!!!

i love your quilt colors too so may think about this one more. when i have the time... not to sure when that will be.

I also like it with just the black binding, but I also like the addition of the yellow border and then the black binding. The yellow reallly pops - so the last picture with a wider yellow border and the regular size binding.

Pretty top! I think a small black border and then a grey patterned fabric large border. I don’t care for the yellow border as it overpowers the rest of the top. I just like the pop of the yellow in the center of the blocks.
