Default Help me find a quick easy pattern for certain fabrics

I wanted to make a quilt for someone I know who went through something, (17 year old girl) I found a pattern I liked, got the fabric for it, and now the more I look at the pattern, the more I think it would not look good with the fabrics I have. I've browsed through some book I have, and looked at some online ideas, and nothing is jumping out at me. I have a few days off this week which would be a perfect time to work on it.

What I have:
27 fat quarters, a jelly roll (that I plan on using for the binding) I was going to use also a black fabric I had in my stash, but just saw how poor quality it was. I also have some yardage in a black mottled fabric, but I'm not sure if it matches.

I would love some suggestions for some quick and easy patterns I could make with what I have. I also have a decent size fabric stash, but when I went through it, I didn't really see anything that would match, other than some solid purple, or some purple batik fat quarters.

Here is the link to a photo of the fabrics I currently have for the project: https://imgur.com/a/sMnaolp

What a great blend of colours!!! Have you considered a disappearing 9-patch? If you have a light fabric as well you could do something with the solid purple as the centre block, the beautiful FQs as your outside four and then a light (or a few similar ones) for the inside four. I'll try to show what I mean. :-)

Donna Jordan has a good tutorial for a layout I tried and really enjoyed - it turns into a lovely diagonal stripy effect. It's one of her free patterns - just look for disappearing nine patch free pattern.

Just one idea - I'm also interested in seeing what others come up with!

aashley333 posted pictures of her quilts today under the title “ Video Called it an Ugly Quilt” . It would work well with your fabrics too. You stack squares of fabric, cut the stack in an uneven 9 patch and then shuffle the pieces to sew them together.

Another idea that might make use of one of the black fabrics (mottled or otherwise) is a stained glass type quilt. I've not made one myself (it's on my "maybe one day" list) but I understand they go together quite quickly because you can cut your coloured fabrics into larger pieces to make up your blocks. There's an old post by JNCT14 that feels like it might be a good starting point for this idea. Wedding gift - stained glass quilt

I searched for Fat Quarter friendly quilt pattern. One of the first sites was allpeoplequilt. https://www.allpeoplequilt.com/quilt...quilt-patterns Maybe one of these patterns, and they are all free.

And if none of those suits your fancy, maybe some of these free patterns will. https://sewcanshe.com/10-free-fat-qu...uilt-patterns/
And there's more here. https://quiltdom.com/fat-quarter-quilt-pattern/
And there's even more. I am impressed by all these free patterns. https://www.favequilts.com/Miscellan...Quilt-Patterns

I agree with Gemm....stained glass quilt! Your colors are perfect for it. If you do a google search for "stained glass quilt pattern free", the images that pop up are simply stunning. I kinda like the ones with the narrow "leading" or strips between the blocks.
here is a link to some.....

I think the black works very well with those colors. You have already been given a lot of good suggestions, but if you want to browse through some more, Quilt Addicts Anonymous has a lot of patterns and tutorials using fat quarters.
