Log cabins are so versatile. This is a great layout. How wide do you cut your strips?

I cut the strips at 1.5", and I cut all logs to size before sewing.

I also love logcabin blocks as there are so many variations of them out there. Also, I've fallen in love with scrappy too. Love yours. I find you can make every different type of logcabin block pattern every week and never make 2 the same twice. And of course, like you, arranging the blocks in various ways makes it unique from the last one.

This doesn't look like mindless sewing to me........it's beautiful and sewn with precision. I have to confess I have never made a log cabin quilt, just two table runners LOL Do you have 1.5 inch strips stored or do you cut as you go?

Thank you. I cut the logs to size before I start sewing. This is an old picture, but it shows how I organize them. I just use the larger white containers for everything now. I chain sew in fairly large groups of blocks.
