Default What quilting design works in the center of the blocks?

I have stitched in the ditch so far. I want to free-motion a design in the center of the block over the sports prints.
I have thought about straight line quilting but wanted your options if there is a better design. Many thanks!

What about stars? Such as the term "all-star" game?

I am new at free motion. I put a printout of a pattern next to the machine and followed it with my eyes to stitch. I haven't tried it on a quilt, yet, but I practiced on squares.

I might just outline stitch some of the objects in the blocks with a meander to the next object until it was quilting about every 3-4 inches. Cute top!

A free-hand five-pointed star. I have used this design often - adds to but somehow does not distract from print designs. Adapts to any size block.

I can’t help suggest a quilting design but I sure like your blocks. Please show us when you get finished with quilting and binding. Great job on the design.-Toogie

I personally love stencils for this kind of thing. You can buy them online or sometimes at LQS or big box fabric stores.

I think straight lines would be really effective, with different directions in each center (horizontal, vertical, diagonal). Maybe 1/2 inch apart. Because of the prints, no quilting is going to show up very much, but you'll get fun texture.

Because I tend to "hide" my quilting thread so that I can enjoy the fabric without being distracted by the quilting, my first inclination was to say to change the top thread to match each block I don't change the bobbin thread so that I can turn it over to better see the quilting. . But that may be too much "hassle."
