My grandma always had quilts on her bed. We didn’t live close so I never saw her sewing. The quilt bug did not bite me until after she was gone. My mother has a quilt grandma made but the fabrics are deteriorating. I wanted to duplicate the pattern. As I had been gifted all these fabrics, there was enough yardage to complete this. I would have chosen other fabrics but am trying to reduce my stash. No I idea what the name of the block is

What a nice old quilt. It seems very happy, like sunflowers.

Those blocks must be huge! I saw the first block you did, I think it may be at the foot of the bed and I saved the picture because I liked the block. I didn’t realize the size. Came out great and I like using what you already have.

I couldn’t remember how big the original blocks were. I believe I made these a bit larger. They finished at 17.5 inches. I guess you could make any size as it is all squares and HST

I'm not sure what the name of the pattern is. But it is pretty. Good luck duplicating the pattern. It should be easy enough

Everyone, cjsews just made this quilt. She made it like the quilt her grandma had made. She used fabrics from her stash. I think it came out great and I like that the blocks are separated by the sashing.

A lovely old fashioned looking quilt with simple quilting.........what could be more comforting than that? You did a great job and used up some of your scraps....a win, win.
