Default Homespun quilt for a friend

A friend of the family just bought a 100 year old farmhouse and I had the pleasure of seeing it in person last month.
I had a supply of homespun FQs and decided a homespun disappearing 9 patch would be fitting and doable before they come this weekend to collect some extra firewood we had. Here is the result, along with a Scandinavian folded star that I made as an ornament and package topper to match. If you have never made them, google it on YouTube. They are addicting.

Love the quilt! I just made a whole bunch of those stars. I'm giving them to my kids for their trees. It was a lot of fun.

Awesome quilt! I also love the folded ornament. They are so easy and fun to make. They both will be well received.

That is so pretty! Great selection of homespuns. Did you wash and/or starch before using? I know they soften with use, but don't know what, if any, the looser weave needs before sewing.
