Default Selvage Quilts

A few days ago, Homespun posted a free offer of her saved selvages. I have been a recipient in the past and I commented about how nice the 'trims' were...also added that I have made 2 quilts from them, and several small projects (they make the cutest little zipped bags). Anyhow, I was posting from iPad and for some reason could not post photos. I'm attempting to do so from my computer this morning....because!! !!, we all like to see pictures. OH! a smidgeon of pink pigs shows on edge of image...thats flannel backing of "flying pink pigs" -

My big sister and her guild made each a salvage quilt. It was interesting. All the salvages were saved in a paper bag and they would go thru them at the guild meetings and exchange them. The entire quilt was made of salvages. One person made a star quilt--don't remember the name. My sister made a train out of her strips. Wish I had that pattern but she's gone now and my BIL does not know who took it.

Nice use of selvages! I also like the blue sashings on the first one, really pulls everything together.

I love sewing with the selvages, I've made tote bags, a quilt, tissue holders, pincushions with scrap bag attached. So fun!
