Default Threading White VS III bobbin/shuttle

My father just gave me a White VS III and I cleaned and oiled it and believe it is working properly. When I try to thread the bobbin/shuttle the thread always breaks when I pull on the thread. Are there any videos showing the proper way to put the thread in the shuttle? Thank you

Welcome. I'm not familiar with your machine, in particular. I don't know if this would be what you need or not. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNULAP4YoOc
The manual at http://www.needlebar.org/main/manual...evs/index.html isn't very good for instructions on threading the bobbin. There is a good article about a Singer long shuttles can be found down the page at https://w.treadleon.net/sewingmachin...vsshuttle.html It is possible the spring has rusted and/or has been screwed on too tight to allow thread to pass through it.

Good luck on getting it working properly.

OurWorkBench thank you very much, when I loosened the screw that holds down the spring the thread went under the spring.
Now I must watch and read more to learn how to sew and restore the looks of the machine and wood cabinet.

Glad I could be of help. Nice to be able to help someone to get these old machines back to their original purpose.
