Default College dorm quilt

If you’ve ever made a dorm quilt, what size did you make it? My daughter said beds are twin, but extra long in length. Need to know the finish size and get it made ASAP and my white bolt comes in. Thanks for your replies!

ummm..a normal twin is 60 X 80 so maybe 60 X 90? She could always tuck it in or use it cover the pillow?

For the actual mattress sizes:
Regular Twin size mattress is: 38" wide x 75" long
A XL Twin mattress is : 38" wide x 80" long

So how long or wide you make it, is how much overhang she wants and if she wants the pillow to be able to be tucked in

To compare it with other Mattress sizes if that helps:

Popular Mattress Sizes

So since a XL Twin mattress is as long as a Queen size mattress, make the quilt the width of a twin quilt and the length of a Queen quilt, unless more overhang or pillow tuck is wanted.

My son's dorm bed is the upper part of a bunk bed with a desk and dresser below. It is against the wall. So a twin size with about 6 extra inches works great. I backed his with minky and no batting. He loves the softness.
