Default Sticks and Stones

This is Sticks and Stones by Studio R Quilts, another simple pattern to do. I had purchased 4 fat quarters from Facebook and used those instead of the 1 1/4 yards the pattern called for, so it's a little smaller than it should be by 1 row. The main fabric is a cute little print of knights of old by Timeless Treasures and all other fabric came from my stash. I added a solid little boys blue for the backing. There are never enough Project Linus quilts for little boys and that is why I'm concentrating on them for a while. I finished this one at 2 am this morning.

I agree with the need for Project Linus quilts that are not strictly feminine or even baby for that matter. I try to make PL quilts at least neutral so a boy or a girl would love to be snuggled in the quilt. You found some fun fabric and something different from trucks, race cars or comic characters or flowers, kittens and Barbie. Yeah!

Someone is going to love that quilt! Thanks for thinking of the boys and making something they can love too.

I like the modern and easy look of this one. My Gus is 7 and I just save a knight hood for him while cleaning my sewing room. He pretends he’s a knight one day and a cowboy the next.-lol oh, the hood was a sampler of a hooded cape I was making for his older wheelchair bound sister years ago. I just made a model hood and neck/shoulder piece out of some dark green I didn’t mind wasting to see if it would fit over her head. He will probably think I made it just for him. Love your knight fabric!

Not speedy at all...I'm one of those non-sleeping persons. Maybe 4 hours of actual sleep a night at the most. When I can't sleep I go downstairs to the main level and work on something. Usually have something cut out and ready to sew, something almost sewn, and something on the quilting frame at the same time. About once a week I crash and get a few hours sleep. Been like this since my oldest son was born in 1978.
