Hello,
i recently saw someone working on a jellyroll race at a quilt show.

What are your favorite jellyroll designs?

Because I mostly make charity quilts I love jelly rolls quilts as they are so fast and easy. I have four favorites that I can think of, these are in no particular order...Zen Garden by Emily Bailey, Boardwalk by Karen Griska. and Sugar Pop and Change by Happy Quilting Melissa, and A Tricky Path (not tricky at all) by Sweet Janes. These are my go to patterns.
Curious to see what others list as theirs.

I made a jellyroll race top and didn't like the colors that much so cut it to make piano key borders. That worked great. I got borders for several scrappy quilts from it.

My favorite is the Strip Twist quilt on the Quiltville site. It always turns out great, as long as you place the values as instructed.

My favorite quilt to make with jelly rolls is the Moda Spell it with fabric. I have made several as gifts……..I normally add some animals so it’s not all jelly roll.

Made a jellyroll race with scraps once. Took some 4 patches and inserted at various points during the 2 strip stage. Looked amazing.

I like to cut my own jelly rolls. I use indoor/outdoor fabric for rugs. They hold up to foot traffic so much better than cotton fabric. I also made a mini rug for a casserole dish-sized hot pad. I didn't have much luck with a JR race quilt, red one, but loved the Diamond Trip by Jordan Fabrics, teal one.
