Default Tote with cats in PJ’s

Hi all, I went with the majority and made a tote, with cats on both sides. Grandson’s wife said make cats different colors and PJ’s too. I quilted by stitching in the ditch around the cat and his clothing. I then quilted a tiny stipple on all the background. I decided to put a welt zipper pocket for her wallet on the inside lining to keep safe from falling out and a deep divided pocket with contrast piping trim on the other lining side. I used a double layer of the flat batting on the outer bag pieces and iron on Pellon 809 for lining and pockets. I really meant to put a strap with a ring so she could hook keys and I forgot. I guess when you don’t go by a guide sheet or pattern you have to depend on your mind. I tend to forget more and more. Anyway, the finish size has a bottom of 5 inch wide, stands 18 inches high and the width finished at 23.5. According to my husband another too big bag. However I told him if I made the bag height lower, the cats feet and legs would be under the bottom. I tried to add enough background for everything to look in proportion. I would have liked to have made a smaller tote but she can fill it and he can carry it-lol …. That may be why MY husband says my last bags are too big-lol lol

Love everything about this! The pattern is so cute, but your selected fabrics and quilting make it even more beautiful.

Toogie, you are so quick. It would have taken me days just to do the sm. meander quilting, let alone make the tote. Another great finish and I'm sure your friend will love it.

I love It! So cute! If it's too big for every day carry, it could be a shopping tote. I have a Professional tote that I made years ago. It was bigger than I like for every carry, but perfect for going to quilt shows. I carry it every time.
