Default Scrap Summit, year 2 coming up

    https://theruffledpurse.com/conquer-...scraps-summit/

free, the links to each day's shows come in your email. There are offers to purchase things, but the summit is free. I really enjoyed it last year, and while I expected it to be all quilt centered, I even learned to weave...I just used my scraps to do it No affiliation.

I had to miss the first three days due to "life", but did manage to get online for the last one. Jennifer Houlden's workshop on using orphan blocks was excellent. She had a great way of sharing her screen to show examples and different ways of arranging things. Then I watched Dara Thomasson's session and was frustrated because all I could see was a little circle with her speaking in it. I'm using a laptop so the circle was too small to really get a good look at her examples. I had to stop watching after about 15 min. of frustration. Wish I could have seen more of the classes - the one I saw to the end was just great.

I watched a couple; neither was live as the timing just didn't work for me. The one on Kawandi was fair. It wasn't anything new, but I had it on while taking care of some other things. The video shot was not ideal; it from above and for the most part, showed her wrists and the mat rather than the stitching. I kept trying to scroll up to see, only to realize it wasn't where I had the screen, but the video itself. Well, it cost me nothing and I learned a bit more about this technique. I'd like to see a larger piece done; they always seem to feature place mat/table topper size pieces.

I don't think the free ones are live because part of the bonus pay package is getting to see them before the rest of us. If I'm remembers correctly.
I enjoyed last years much more but I was also more involved with Nikki, and the FB group which I'm not this year. Not enough hours in the day and I limit my hours on-line or I'd Never get anything done
