    Default Monster Quilt

Finished this quilt for my son and DIL's 20th anniversary (only about a year late)
It measures 100" x 108". Had it quilted edge to edge.
Fabric is "Soar" line from Northcott - outside border is "Stonehenge Surfaces" also Northcott.
Last picture is the leftovers -probably enough for a queen.....

Oh that looks great. Wonderful job, I'm sure they will love it. Blues galore, look so good together!
I've had fun washing my bed spreads. trying to think of something lighter to use so an not to make the washing machine go thunk!. But quilts are big too, so still thinking on that one.

    Sew Nicely done, SuzzyQ!!
    Love the colours and fabrics.
    The backing is amazing

Are you going to make a Sister Quilt with those leftovers? also, for your DDIL/DS?
That's what I call it when I make a 2nd quilt of the leftovers ... full coordination with the original, but not the same pattern. Actually, I have one set of Three Sisters!

Hey ... are you getting thunder right now, down in T-Stock?
Lots of rumbling going on, so probably an interesting night of rain ahead here!
TV just lost the satellite connection, which usually means the storm is on its way.
Just so long as it's rain, and not what Ayr got last week. YIKES!!

Yes, been listening to the thunder and watching lightning for the past half hour or so. Not a severe storm at all.

Never though of a sister quilt but I have lots of ideas for another using the stars that didn't come out the same size and a lot of the same fabric squares....

Wow, SuzzyQ, that is a beautiful quilt. Can't wait to see what you'll do with the left overs.

Gorgeous shades of blue and lots and lots of piecing made for a beautiful monster quilt. I did something similar with, I believe, a Northcott panel in more brown scale for the back and strip pieced front using FQs. It's hanging to be quilted so will post it someday after my leg heals LOL Your DS and DIL look very pleased!!!!

Same here ... more sound and fury than splash!

It's an easy assortment to come up with lots of ideas on how to use them.
Maybe the Sister quilt should stay home, and live with you?

Honestly, I am still mesmerized by the backing fabric.
Sometimes a repeat pattern looks just that.
This one, is so well done that your eyes are not pulled to see the repeat.
