What has happened to " American made:" clothes? All my computer research ends up with anything abroad not American made. Attempted to find a pair of cargo pants with six pockets and elastic waist 'cause I love the pair I found in Wal Mart, but it was all foreign places...tried one an its suddenly charging me three times the amount stated. Guess that is college fee for learning not to do that again. Laving me feeling like an old fool for sure!

American Giant makes all its clothes in the US. They aren't Walmart prices though.

It can be a challenge! I grew up with the "look for the union label: song in my head... A lot of the textile industries were shut down in the 70s and moved off shore.

Not clothing, but I have switched to "American Made" brand solid quilting fabrics made by Clothworks instead of Kona. So far I've been very happy with the black and white and few colors I've ordered. Here's a video on the product, is both grown and milled in USA --

No one thought twice about the consequences of moving manufacturing overseas. All anyone could see was profit and cheaper prices.

I wish I could shop for "American made" as a filter on Amazon. Most of their products seem to be made in China. Sometimes, Place of Origin is difficult to find.

I went to Amazon and in the search bar typed American made and a lot of items came up. I didn't research if they were actually made in the USA but it might be worth it for you to give it a try for what you are looking for and then let us know!!

and then there is the discussion of "support your local busines" many of them forced out by Walmarts and such.

Same goes for just about everything. Years ago I ordered a set of 3 high chairs for my kitchen Island, they came from NY so American made. Went to order another set of 3 as I figured I could use just 2 chairs at the island and 4 at a table I was having made for the new sunroom which would be the same height. When they came, I had nothing but trouble putting them together right down to the rubber feet. Checked the box and they came from out of the country. They looked pretty much the same but when you're putting them together you notice the slight differences. I contacted the company asking explaining the problem and if they could just send me new rubber feet. They came back stating no that they would send me a whole entire 3 chair package, use what I needed and send the rest back.

Seems the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing as I did get a package of just the rubber feet plus another set of 3 chairs. The same problem, the rubber feet didn't fit. I finally jambed them in, packed the rubber feet separately and then the 3 extra chairs separately. Called the company for a shipping label and they came back telling me to just keep it all for free. Can't argue that so my new table was then built to fit 6 chairs instead of just 4.

Also John Deere has always been an American company but they're laying folks off and having a factory built in Mexico, what's with that????? Bet the farmers are not too happy about that and we have a John Deere company here in town no less.

Thanks for the help. I did contact the USA cloth place to be on their email mailing list. Light in the Box is from Singapore but when the ad does not list place, its a world wide country, and they ship DHL way.
