    Default My inside dog!

Lol-I made this dog pillow for a friend with dementia or Alzheimer’s. He always had these kind of wiener dogs over the years and has one still. His wife said if he got any worse she would have to put him somewhere. I made this ‘dog’ so he could take his dog with him. I hope he likes it. I first tried to stitch in the ditch around the dog, but I decided to quilt his sweater with a crosshatch. I also went back over the black trim of sweater, nose with a zigzag stitch in black. My SID wasn’t that great so I covered the stitches with the zigzag. I had made a cat in PJ’s last year without a pattern. I told my granddaughter in law the dog should be easier. She surprised me with the Dog in Sweaters pattern for Christmas, in with my other gift. It’s taken me this long to stop and make it. With making QOV and 70 something bus gifts, I haven’t took time to make anything personal. By the way, a tourist/passenger got my number from my niece that organizes the bus trips so she could call me and thank me personally for making all those gifts. She loved her vinyl mini notebook cover and zipper bag she won. She said she used her notebook to jot down & record things about the trip. Sure makes a body feel appreciated when someone goes to lengths to thank you for your work. Well look now at my pictures, of my dog, coming to life-lol I think he’s so darn cute!

I so appreciate that you shared about getting a thank you for the gifts made for bus gifts. This dog pillow will be a nice thing for him no matter where he is living. Such a cute pattern.

In today’s world a “Thank you” is a seldom gotten treat. It makes it extra special when they go to so much trouble. Your friend should like his doggie pillow and how nice he gets to take this one along wherever he goes. 💕

I grew up with a doxie, my first dog. Yours looks right at home on your couch too. "Fritz" wasn't allowed on the couch, but every time we got home from church, there was an indentation that was warm on the couch cushion LOL I love your doxie with his plaid sweater. The recipient will love and hug him just like he does the real one. You are so kind to create a substitute.
A thank you goes a long way doesn't it? You give so much time, talent and money to others, so it's nice to be recognized once in awhile.

I made that Elizabeth Hartman quilt. I made one block out of scraps to try it the pattern out. It was so cute I made mine into a pillow also. So cute!
