    Default LQS quilterscashe.com challenge

The LQS gave us a challenge this year. They put each letter of the alphabet on a scrap of paper and drew out 3 letters each month. We were to go to quilterscashe.com and find a block that started with that letter and make a block. When we returned the next month for club, we showed each block. We used our own choice of fabrics and our own choice of pattern. I had a large piece of the multi color batik and the background batik in my stash for the blocks. I used lots of scraps and partial FQ's for the color. Then I found the border also in my stash. I did have to purchase the sashing fabric. I had a hard time choosing a color for the sashing. Brown is the only color that I did not use in the blocks, so it seemed right. It was a fun challenge, and I am looking forward to the one they have for next year.

Beautiful quilt, Mary. The golden brown sashing looks great with those colors. I bet it was fun searching through Quilter's Cache for blocks, too. Great idea for a challenge.

A clever way to run a sampler project without creating a kabillion look alike quilts. Congratulations to the local quilt shop. Your choices are lovely together and the colors play well together. Shopping from stash is always such a creative experience. Whoo hoo for you!
