    Default Have you ever ordered....

I 've been wanting a sunflower quilt for a couple of years. Found one I really liked called "Follow the Sun" in Quilting Through the Year by Sherilyn Mortensen and Bear Breek Quilting is having a sale now through 12/2/14. I've picked out several of the fabrics for this quilt and placed an order for them, but no quarantee that I will get all of them. Would you go ahead and cut and start sewing the pieces you have fabric for or wait until everything arrives and hope all the colors were a good pick? Wanting to enter this one in the county fair (late July and early August) if it turns out as beautiful as I hope, I know it will have to be long-armed and hope to have it back by 1st of July. Thanks for your imput!

If it's that special to you, I'd wait until I had all th epieces/parts and the colors 'work'. Sounds lovely already..
I'd also give a heads up to your longarm-er that you will need to fit into his/her schedule for finishing by July 1st. Best wishes with your project.

Fabric lines today are not repeated. So if you don’t get all the fabrics in the line you are seeking now, there is little chance it will ever be in stock at BearCreek again. It may be available in another store however.

Wait for all the fabrics before cutting and piecing. Check the pattern site to see if there are any corrections.

I'd definitely wait. I always have projects going on so I'd just work on another project in the meantime.

If it were me, I would wait until I had all my fabric. Sometimes it’s tempting to start without, but my luck is such that I’d be short of something, then not be able to find what’s needed. I’m not a scrappy quilter so having to come up with something else would drive me crazy.

Back in the “old days” we ordered clothes from Montgomery Wards, Sears and Penneys catalogs. Several times i’d order a coordinated top and bottom, then one would be shipped, while the other piece was “out of stock”. Grrrr
