Good morning, ladies. Sorry I didn't get this set up last night. We discovered last night that we have squirrels in the attic and everything else just flew out of my head
. And even though my calendar reminded me, I still didn't pay attention!!
So welcome to the January VQW. I hope you are able to join me this weekend. Tomorrow and Monday I will be quilting with friends but this afternoon and Sunday afternoon I will be working on a few projects in the sewing room. Mainly By Annie bag projects I think. What are your plans for the weekend? If anyone has questions, please feel free to ask. I am happy to answer where I can.

Yea! I am still working on the pixel quilt and have 1/2 blocks stitched together. The closer to the end that I get, the more impatient I am to finish! But the family must eat! Speaking of eating, I put off the trip to town for groceries yesterday. I guess that today I will sacrifice some sewing time to go!
I hope they appreciate all that I sacrifice-lol.

I am In of course. Always need motivation to get something finished or progress forward.......
1. Finish the last sashing on my hospice donation quilt
2. Search out all UFO tops and locate backing for them in stash.
3. Make a list of which ones need backings. A friend has offered her stash of backings that were given to her! Yeah, since most are donations, this will help out a lot.
4. Layer one of the small UFOs to finish by the end of next week.
Stitch on everyone.

Oh good, I will spend time sewing. This afternoon a friend will come for a couple hours and I will hand quilt on my Scotties and/or hand stitch the binding on the mystery quilt. Guild zoom tomorrow for 2 hours, so will try to finish whatever doesn’t get done today. Look forward to hearing and seeing everyone’s projects.

Thanks for hosting, Heather. I have plenty of *squirrel* moments without actually having squirrels...
I always enjoy being surrounded by others sewing, even if virtual. Still dealing with my vision issues (mostly done, yay!) and have just enough to be working on the Bonnie Hunter project. I'm behind... weeks behind... but back when we started I thought maybe the most I'd be able to do was cut strips and instead I've been able to sew as well.
So right now I'm finishing up Clue 8 (9 was the reveal). All the little bits will be finished up and the block assembly begins, it will go quick at this point but I will want to stop and play here and there...

As I finally got my wringer unit back from having it worked on, yesterday I started starching fabric for 2 sets of 2 oversized lap quilts for 2 couples. Measured what I needed for each set, cut, then starched and hung it up to dry. As it's so dry in the basement right now, it didn't take long for the fabric to dry so on Saturday I'll be pressing all the fabrics and getting ready to start cutting and assembling. One of the patterns is the Drunkard's path as I've never done one but I've had the plastic templates for years. Now it the time to get out of my comfort zone about curves and try my hand at it. I've been watching videos on how to stitch them out. The other pattern is called Movement in Squares. I took that one into EQ8, created the various blocks so I could figure out how much of each fabric I needed. The Drunk's Path will be made in burgundy and tan fabrics. And boy did the burgundy fabrics bleed like a stuck pig. So glad I starch my fabrics first and then press misting them with a mixture of vinegar and water as supposedly vinegar is supposed to help set the color too. I always give a couple color guard sheets with a note how to use them with every quilt I gift out.

Wow! A lot happens while I'm sleeping.
Raggiemom, no criticism, you're not late. 5?? AM actually happens-I'd say you're early. Glad to know that noise in the attic is squirls and not some unknown. We had woodpeckers that stuffed the battans clear across the roof. Critters.....
We'll cheer you on with the ByAnnie. Been there, done that. And have another.

Ice: you sound better today. Glad you're able to sew and do something you enjoy.
Snooze: surprise-haven't seen fabric bleed in years. Good you caught it. "Retain" will set the color.
I'm getting ready for a quilt show. Need to finish a small quilt, about 1/2 quilted. Write 8 more descriptions; stitch on 5 labels and 3 hanging pockets. Got 5 wks to finish. I like deadlines, motivation. Stay focused.
