    Default Mini Petals quilt

On the New Year’s VQW I pieced the blocks for this little quilt from older sample fabrics plus a few brights from a recent charm pack. I backed it with fleece that had been gifted to me also many years ago….. but it does have a brand new batting … so not quite “free”
it is just 35 1/2” x 44 1/2” in size as I made it to “use up” the fleece, and had to piece it as it was.

I really like your unusual, but very pleasing, combination of colors on the top. Sweet little quilt.

You did a great job using what you had and making a cute usable quilt for a little one. A winner all around.

I did this pattern with some bright pastels from the stash inherited from my mother. The fabrics were cute children's fabric with flowers with faces, cartoon butterflies and frogs. I used some batting I inherited from a coworker's mother-in-law. Two months later, our workplace adopted a family for Christmas and the family had an 8 year old daughter. I was so excited to gift this quilt to her, as was my coworker who helped donate to the gift. A little off-topic, I know, but this is a quick and easy pattern and it makes a great gift.
