Default I was awarded 2 Ribbons!

My quilt guild's quilt show was this weekend. Our guild has about 150 members. It was so well organized and pleasant to stroll through the 300 or so quilts that were entered into different categories. This is the first time I have entered a quilt show. There were many categories!
My Art Quilt placed Third. It probably would have snagged First if it had been quilted by check, because I was new to FMQ. Judges said to make loops smoother. I like my inexperienced loops better than someone else finishing it for me. I like the start to finish process being all me. While I am able.
My Scrappy Quilt placed Second! I had tried quilting with rulers, which I eventually just used markers to draw the stitching lines on the border. Also used the double and triple needle for some quilting. Aaand, that was the quilt that I left the marker's lines unwashed for months!

Congratulations! Both designs are fabulous but the shell one is outstanding. Yes, you should have won 1st. place. I really don't like the idea that professionally quilted quilts can be placed in the same category as self-quilted. The same with machine applique and hand applique -- they should have their own category.
